Big Girl Swim Class

Jillian started her new BIG GIRL swim classes this weekend.  She is now a Super Water Baby!  The new class is A LOT more drowning under water breath holding and the kiddos are just with the instructors.  No Mommies are in the pool for this class.  It is probably all for the best because watching your 2 year old under water for 10 seconds clamoring for a gasp of air is heart wrenching to say the least.  Daddies should probably stay home for the first few sessions.   

I was super nervous that this was going to be an absolutely HORRIBLE session.  I psyched Jillian up for it this week, but we have had a busy week.  Colton born, Grandma's here, first gymanstics class (more on that later), and Papa Joe came for a visit.   It is an understatement to say that JB is out of sorts.  Can you blame her?  Mommy is a bit tired too.  But just when you plan for the worse, they completely surprise you.  

My kid is awesome.  I am so proud of her.

As an example of what the other kids are doing.  Ms Lisa is making sure JB is ok because the screaming kid just kicked her in the face before screaming through his turn.  Jillian, cool as punch.

In the interest of full disclosure, there was one outburst at the end where Jillian decided she had enough of the drowning "breath holding" and she cried on her last turn.  At this point she had been the only kid not to cry so it didn't squelch my pride one bit.  Go Jillian!
