Red Neck Swim Party

In case you haven't noticed, it is stinking HOT in Texas.  We are nearly at 30 days in a row of 100+ temperatures.  So the only place you can be is in the pool.  Ryan and I both agree that having a real pool right now is out of the question.  However, Jillian doesn't really seem to mind just hanging out with us in the little shark pool.  And by "with us" I mean we are also in the kiddie pool hanging out.  It is HOT people.

Jillian loves to slide into the pool from her little fort. We have to spray it down about every 5 minutes to keep it from burning her, but it is worth it.

Daddy got this pose, but Jillian didn't really seem to.  Too bad, it could have been cute.

Jillian really like the hose.

And splashing.

The slide is way more fun when Mommy goes down with her.

On a side note, I also tackled a little project I have been wanting to take on.  I restained my front door.  The guy at Sherwin Williams thought I coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs when I told him my door was stained without a lacquer over it. Apparently, not a lot of doors are like this one.  However, I think it turned out pretty good so I thought I would shared.

A Big Fat Bruise

Jillian had her first major banged up face the past few weeks.  And yes, she did tell the babysitter's daughter that her Mommy beat her.  I blame Ryan.

She did actually fell out of a booster seat at a restaurant by trying to lean over and kiss her Mommy.  Oh, the guilt!  Here is the pictures to memorialize this milestone.

Just a Cute Day

I am not sure why these pictures are blog worthy to me other than the fact they just scream out "Jillian"to me.  My friend Erin made her this hat forever ago and every once in a while she will wear it around the house.  The apron was a gift from Mimi from her trip to the Czech republic.

A Party for Aunt Annie-Dallas Shower

I am finally getting around to posting about Aunt Annie's Dallas shower.  I hosted the shower with Annie's two adorable sister in laws, Audra and Lexie and her friend Rene.  Now, as you know if you know me, I am a self professed control freak.  I really don't feel bad about it.  It is just a part of me.  However, these girls were AWESOME to throw a shower with!  We divided and conquered the work pretty squarely and it all came out just lovely.  Audra and Honda (Bret's very talented Mommy) did all the decor, I did the food, Rene did the cake, and Lexie flew in from Colorado on a red eye (a 3 am wake up call came here way, people).

The favors that Audra, Honda, and I put together.  They came out very cute.  I did the little poem and Audra and Honda put together the rest.  I feel like a contributor to something that came out looking pretty professional.

Audra and Honda brought over these white table clothes that were made by Bret's Great Grandma.  So stinking cool.  The flowers were also gorgeous.

I was really proud of my little signs I made for all the food.

And I had to chalk up a sign on my chalkboard from Bret and Annie!  I think I am going to keep it up until Colton comes to see me.

Plates?  Is that what you are thinking.  However, these are from Bret's Great Grandma as well and Honda brought them for the special occasion.  Such history!  I thought they were very cool.

Audra got a bunch of Annie's maternity photos to put around the house.

 More pictures of more desserts....

The party in action...

JB was obsessed with the cake.  Look at here being a little angel in front of it....

Or not.

The hostesses...Oh yeah, Rene and Annie are due a week apart.  How fun is that?

The Moms and the Grandmoms.

Annie and Stephanie.  Sorry, but I had to clip Sophie out.  She wasn't lookin' cute.  She will thank me later.

Jillian finally got some cake.  And she really enjoyed feeding it to Mimi.

Now I know my ABC's

July 4th-Off With A Bang

We went up to Mimi & Papa's lake house this weekend for the 4th.  We had a fabulous time and the kiddos were just so sweet together!  They just get more fun all the time.  Jillian became quite the little minnow after we made her a proper little "Motor boat" (a trick we learned in swim school).  She was happy as can be tootling around the lake.

The fireworks started off a bit scary, but one she learned to "plug" her ears we were good to go.  We did have a bad moment when we gave our little angels sparklers and then we all acted surprised when Jillian burned Nicholas.  Sorry about that, Nicholas.   Poor little guy.

Of course we got to do lots of fishing this weekend.  Daddy  Jillian got a new Barbie fishing pole for Father's day.  There are lights on this thing people.  What girl doesn't like flashy stuff?

We caught quite a few fish and our little buddy had no problems lipping that fish.  In fact, she stuck her thumb so far down that it came out a gill once.  We are so proud.

Lake house from the dock.  A little slice of heaven.

Oh yes, they look angelic, don't they?  Aunt Christie hooked us up with matching shirts to make it extra festive.  They are so cute together it just melts your heart.  Trust me.

To top off this weekend, the kiddos even shared an air mattress without incident.  I guess it helps that they were so tired they couldn't see straight.  Cousins are so much fun!

Hi Colton! From Jillian

Aunt Annie's Shower

I know this post is already old before it is posted, but I have been rather busy.  To say the least.  Don't judge me.  Really, you can't make me feel any more guilty than I already do.

We had Aunt Annie's baby shower in St. Louis a couple weekends back and we had a great time! Aunt Annie is just a gorgeous prego girl!  We all cannot wait for little Colton's arrival in T-minus 6 weeks or so.  Hurry up little Colton!

Please note the very nice banner that I made.  Nikki made the fabulous cake, and Mom broke out some crafty skills from way back on the tissue flowers.  Aunt Diane and Aunt Maggie also deserve a shout out for all of their help as well.  I think Annie felt very loved so I am calling this one "Mission Accomplished."

Since everything is really all about Jillian, I have to point out the doll house here.  These girls played with it non-stop all weekend.  They loved it.

1, 2, 3, 4, and a half.  That's right 4 new babies in the family in the past 3 months and 2 on the way!  The Rabbitt family is growing like bacteria all over again.  Sweet!

 Everybody loves Aunt Annie!

Once again about Jillian...Her favorite moment of the day was when Debbie let her hold little Bristol.  She was so proud of herself.  Bristol was scared for her life!  Thanks, Debbie!

Check out the loot!

"Um...That's a lot of babies, Mommy."
